Rooms by intent

Choose the room by what matters after the photograph.

Four room types, each made for a different kind of stay. Start with the detail that matters most, then see the trade-off clearly.

Ways to stay

One night shows the lake. Three nights reveal the place.

Two unhurried ways to give the south shore enough time, without turning the stay into a fixed programme.

A couple taking an unhurried breakfast in the garden after a calm morning walk, with maps and a small daypack nearby

A way to stay

Three Quiet Days

Three nights give the road time to fall away and the south shore time to become more than a view. The stay brings together breakfast each morning, one reserved dinner, a packed lunch and enough local planning to let weather and energy shape the days.

Family Lake Week

A family week works best when not every hour needs a plan. Seven nights leave room for the lake, one longer outing, ordinary breakfasts, laundry, weather that changes its mind and the quiet afternoon that children sometimes need more than another attraction.

South Shore

One base. Four directions.

Issyk-Kul lies north of Tamga. Tamga Gorge rises south of the village. Karakol lies east along the lake; Balykchy and Bishkek connections lie west. The map is for orientation only.

House & Table

The house does the small work.

A useful common room, a generous breakfast and one dinner the kitchen can serve well.

Our story

Tamaga Hotel has no inherited mansion, celebrity architect or founding legend. It began as a question: what might a small independent hotel become if its website understood the house, the place and the guest journey as completely as a good host does?

Our story
A complete Tamaga Hotel breakfast for two on a timber table: fresh bread, eggs, plain yoghurt, fruit, local preserves, soft cheese and tea
Breakfast
A warm vegetarian evening meal served family-style: roasted seasonal vegetables, grains, fresh herbs, bread and a yoghurt-based accompaniment
Dinner

Breakfast is served as a small, generous table rather than a performance of abundance. In the evening, resident guests can reserve one home-style meal built around the season, the number of people at the table and what the kitchen can prepare well.

Before arrival

The useful details, before you need to ask.

Ordinary arrival is until 20:00. Later arrival requires written confirmation; the house does not promise a 24-hour reception desk.

Getting to Tamga

Start here when deciding how to reach Tamga and what the final part of the journey will require.

Children

Check this before booking children, a cot or four-person occupancy; room capacity changes with every sleeping arrangement.

Accessibility

Check this before booking for reduced mobility; the Garden Studio is step-free, but the complete property has not been universally certified.

Check-in & Payments and cancellation

Check this before planning your arrival; ordinary check-in ends at 20:00 and later arrival requires written confirmation. Check this before choosing a rate; flexible, offer and advance-payment terms are not interchangeable.

Property fit

A good fit includes what is absent.

A small hotel becomes easier to trust when it stops pretending to suit everyone.

Pool and spa

No pool or spa.

Tamaga Hotel does not provide a swimming pool, spa, sauna complex or gym.

Private serviced beach

Natural public shore, not a serviced private beach.

The lake is reached by a natural meadow path. There are no private loungers, lifeguards or managed beach facilities.

Guaranteed 24-hour reception

No guaranteed 24-hour desk.

Ordinary check-in ends at 20:00. Later arrival and special services require written confirmation.

All-day restaurant and room service

Breakfast and one reserved dinner, not an all-day restaurant.

Breakfast is served daily and one home-style dinner can be reserved. There is no room service, cocktail bar or late-night kitchen.
