Children
Children are welcome here as people, not as a market segment. The hotel provides proper sleeping arrangements, practical meals and room to slow down, but it is not a resort with supervised play, a fenced beach or a programme built around constant entertainment.
Choosing the right room
The Family Room is the principal choice for four guests. It contains one queen bed and two permanent single beds in one open room.
It is not a two-bedroom suite. Two couples should only choose it when they are comfortable sharing one sleeping space.
The Garden Studio suits up to three guests and adds a kitchenette, private garden and step-free entrance.
Selected Shore and Orchard Rooms can accommodate a cot, but not an extra adult bed. The booking form will only display combinations that fit the room’s safe capacity.
Cots and children’s equipment
A cot and high chair are available in limited numbers.
Request them when booking. The hotel will confirm the arrangement rather than assuming that a cot can be added to every full room.
A child’s age should be entered accurately. It affects sleeping arrangements, meals, capacity and the rate shown.
Food
Breakfast is included.
At dinner, children can receive smaller portions and simpler components of the main meal. Tell us about dietary needs in advance, particularly where an allergy is involved.
The Family Room includes a small refrigerator. The Garden Studio has a compact kitchenette. Other room types do not provide cooking facilities.
The garden and shore
The garden is sheltered but not designed as a supervised play area.
The route to the lake crosses a natural meadow and reaches an open pebble shore. There is no fence, lifeguard, private beach enclosure or shallow children’s pool. Adults remain responsible for children beside the water and on all outdoor paths.
What children will not find here
Tamaga Hotel does not have:
- a children’s club;
- supervised childcare;
- organised evening entertainment;
- a swimming pool;
- electronic games rooms;
- a separate children’s restaurant;
- a programme that fills every day.
What it offers instead is space for ordinary family time: breakfast without a queue, a proper table, a garden, the lake nearby and a room that does not ask two children to share an improvised sofa bed.
Before booking
Tell us:
- the age of every child;
- whether a cot is needed;
- the preferred bed arrangement;
- any food or access requirement;
- whether the party is one household or several adults sharing.
See Family Lake Week or contact the house when the arrangement is not straightforward.
Check this before booking children, a cot or four-person occupancy; room capacity changes with every sleeping arrangement.
